The initiative of a Law on Sacred Places for Indigenous Peoples, which is presented in this historic document is the product of an extensive process of collective construction, in which ancestral spiritual leaders of different linguistic communities of Mayan, Xinka and Garifuna participated, was reviewed and agreed by the Commission for the definition of the Sacred Places, attached to the Peace Secretariat in coordination with the National Conference Oxlajuj Ajpop, the National Council for the Implementation of the Peace Accords, and the Ministries VCNAP Culture and Sports.
