Coalition

Supported by the IUCN Specialist Group on the Cultural and Spiritual Values of Protected Areas, the World Commission on Protected Areas and IUCN, The Sacred Natural Sites Initiative works with custodians, traditional knowledge holders, conservationists, academics and others in support of the conservation and revitalisation of sacred natural sites and territories.

Get Involved
Would you like to contribute to the work of the Sacred Natural Sites Initiative? We are inviting custodians, supporting organisations, conservationists, scientists and others to:
  • Share news about sacred natural sites in your part of the world
  • Contribute case studies on sacred natural sites based on your work and experience
  • To review, test and translate the IUCN UNESCO Guidelines
  • Take the online survey
  • Contact us and tell us about your work and ideas
  • Let us know how you would like to collaborate with the Sacred Natural Sites Initiative.
  • Custodians of a sacred natural site and organisations supporting custodians are welcome to inquire about how they can assist the council of custodians and join the coalition.
