The sites and cases described in this section are examples of the work supported by the Sacred Natural Sites Initiative and the broader alliance of custodians and their supporters. These sites and cases are based on experiences of custodians and their supporters with conserving sacred natural sites.

The site and case descriptions can be derived from field reports, case studies contributed to proceedings, results from surveys, legal reviews, scientific articles and practitioner data. Linkages to reference and resource materials as well as contact details have been provided where appropriate.

Whilst this archive is being expanded Free and Prior Informed Consent protocols are being improved. This way, we sensitively gather information about sacred natural sites in collaboration with other organisations and initiatives that keep records on sacred natural sites and allow for systematisation and structural analysis of case studies.
